Does Making your Bed Everyday really make a difference??

For some people making your bed in the morning is an automatic thing and for others a real struggle or not important at all.

I mean there are so many excuses:

· I’m just going to sleep in it again tonight

· I don’t have time

· No one will see anyway

· I don’t have to if I don’t want to

Blah blah blah and the list could go on...

But making your bed is a normal part of tidying up and keeping your home in order. It is actually a bigger deal than you may think, and it can change your life!

It might sound like a small thing but making your bed sets a tone for your entire day. It sends a signal to your brain that you are finished resting and ready for the day. I’m not saying you need to make it an immaculate show piece but simply fluffing up pillows and making your sheet tight and folded under the mattress is an easy habit with little effort to get into.

There are some really great benefits to making your bed every morning.

· You will have a sense of order

· You have accomplished your first task for the day

· Gives you a sense of pride

· Reinforces that the little things in life matter

· You are laying a foundation for a string of accomplishments

What a great way to start your day!!

Being in tidy mode first thing in the morning encourages you to move through your day being more inclined to move on to more tidying, decluttering and even improving your bedroom’s décor. And you never know it might encourage you to do a spring clean!

You spend about a third of your life in your bedroom so the appearance and atmosphere really impacts your mood and how well you sleep. It also tells your mind that you are in control and care about keeping your life organised, this in turn can lower your stress levels and improve your mood.

Let’s be honest, there is no better way to end your day than sliding into your bed when it’s been made and your room is clean.

Making your bed each day will definitely impact how well your sleep. Research has shown that people who make their beds every day are 19% more likely to report a good night’s sleep and that correlates directly with increased feelings of well being and happiness. Relaxing in a serene, clean and tidy bedroom creates a subtle but powerful sense of calm and accomplishment.

So what are you waiting for…..create a good habit starting today and make your bed every morning 😊
